Sparkling Creek Valley Wiki

Even though the Valley sees snow every winter, many reptiles are able to survive and reproduce in the Valley year after year, thanks to the geothermal systems spread throughout the area. In particular, Galar's Marsh and Pike's Lake are exceptionally warmer at the bottom of their muddy beds, providing enough warmth to keep not just alligators, but crocodiles and other foreign species alive until the next summer arrives.

The Marsh and Lake aren't the only safe houses for the Valley's reptiles. The Ashen Domes is particularly hot, while the Croal Mountains and various hot spots in the lowlands of the Valley offer additional refuge.
